Petros Aristidou

After his PhD at the University of Liege Since January 2020, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Power Systems Laboratory at ETH Zurich followed by a position as Lecturer at the University of Leeds. Since 2020 he has been an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Power Systems at the Cyprus University of Technology. His expertise is in power system dynamics, planning, and control, and he has participated in several working groups looking into the challenges of low-inertia systems.

Hakan Ergun

Since 2024 he is an Associate Professor with KU Leuven and the Energy Transmission Competence Hub (Etch) within EnergyVille. His main research interest is to optimally develop and operate future energy networks for the renewable energy transition. He is the main developer of a number of open-source network modelling tools for optimal planning and operation of AC and DC grids, and stability and security constrained network operation. He is a senior member of IEEE and is an active member of CIGRE.

Herwig Renner

He holds a position as Associate Professor at the Institute of Electrical Power Systems at Graz University of Technology. His main interests in research and teaching lies in the field of power system analysis with special focus on power system dynamics and power quality. He is member of the CIRED technical committee and several CIGRE working groups.

Robert Schürhuber

After 15 years as expert for power systems he was appointed as full professor at the Institute for Electrical Power Systems, at Graz University of Technology. His field of interest is on generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy with special focus on integration of inverter based renewable generation. He is member of several CIGRE and IEC working groups.

Thomas Strasser

He has been a senior scientist at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology’s Center for Energy for over 14 years, focusing on smart grid automation, research project development, and mentoring PhD candidates and junior scientists. As senior IEEE member, he contributes to IEC and IEEE standardization groups and holds leadership roles in IES, SMCS, PES, and the Austria Section. He also represents Austria in CIGRE Study Committees B5 and previously C6.
