CVDr. Markus Pöller is Managing Director and co-founder of MPE, a German-British engineering and consulting company, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Stuttgart. With more than 30 years of experience in the power industry, he began his career as a software developer, designing algorithms and models for the power system analysis software DIgSILENT PowerFactory. From 2007 to 2012, he served as Joint Managing Director of DIgSILENT, where he was responsible for the company's software development and consulting activities. In 2012, he founded MPE GmbH in Tübingen. One year later, together with his partners Jochen Möller and Jonathan Horne, he co-founded MPE Ltd. in London. Today, MPE provides power system studies for transmission system operators worldwide and supports the grid integration of renewable and conventional generation, including wind farms, solar PV plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), synchronous condensers, and hydro and gas-fired power plants. Throughout his career, Dr. Pöller has conducted power system stability studies across Europe and internationally, including projects in Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, and Central America. Dr. Pöller holds a Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Leibniz University Hannover, a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, and a Diplôme d'Ingénieur in Electronics and Telecommunications from Télécom Paris. Dr. Pöller is the author or co-author of more than 50 publications in scientific journals, conference proceedings, books, and published technical reports.
